What is JIBE?
JIBE is where friends help friends land jobs. It is a referral-based hiring platform that enables jobseekers to tap into their existing social networks to gain access to the jobs they want through the people they already know. JIBE provides jobseekers with a wide range of career opportunities, insight into how many connections they have at a given company and the ability to contact their connections, ask for referrals and then attach those referrals to their job application.
How does JIBE work?
You sign into JIBE through your Facebook and/or LinkedIn accounts. When you find a job on the JIBE job board for which you'd like to apply, you have the opportunity to request a referral from someone in your network who is relevant to the particular company. Members of your network are then prompted to click a Thumbs Up button on your application, indicating to the employer that they think you would be a good fit for the organization. These referrals are then attached directly to your application and submitted through the JIBE website, a first for recruiting platforms.
JIBE uses your social network connections in two ways:
- We show you all of your friends' employment and education history
- We allow you to search anyone in your network for a Thumbs Up referral
That's all JIBE does with your information. We do not spam your networks, email anyone without your direct consent, or use your personal information in any way.
Why do I have to log in through Facebook or LinkedIn?
Through JIBE, jobseekers use their social networks to attach references to their applications when they apply for jobs. You are required to log in using Facebook or LinkedIn so that you can clearly see who is in your network. This will help you determine whom you should ask for a reference.
The only personal information of yours ever shown on JIBE is your picture and work experience. The only people who can see this information are your Facebook and LinkedIn connections who are also JIBE members.

What do employers see when I apply for a job?
When you apply for a position through JIBE, employers will see a JIBE branded page with your cover letter, resume, and the names of your Thumbs Up references.
What will people in my network see when I apply for a job?
The only people who know you've applied for a position on JIBE are those from whom you specifically request a Thumbs Up. These connections will receive either a Facebook or LinkedIn message requesting that they give you a Thumbs Up.
Why should I ask for a Thumbs Up on my application?
A Thumbs Up is a personal reference from someone in your social network that explains to a recruiter that 1) you really want that particular job and 2) you would be great at it. When they can see that you took the time to get a Thumbs Up, recruiters are more likely to call you in for an interview and eventually hire you.
We recommend choosing connections with whom you've been involved professionally (former supervisor, current client, etc.) as they have the most knowledge of your professional experience, job aspirations, and skill set.
Asking for a Thumbs Up is not a requirement, but is strongly recommended.
Why am I asked for a password on my application?
When you are asked for a password at the end of a JIBE application, it is just our system recognizing that you have already set up an account with the employer. (Companies discourage applicants from creating multiple accounts.)
What is the status of my job application?
JIBE is not a third-party recruiter. Once JIBE has confirmed that your application has been submitted, the hiring company's recruiters will contact you directly if they choose to do so.
How do I delete my account?

How much does JIBE charge users?
I am an employer looking to post my open positions on JIBE, what do I do?
What is JIBE?
JIBE is a referral-based hiring platform that enables jobseekers to tap into their existing social networks to gain access to the jobs they want through the people they already know, increasing their chances of getting hired.
When did JIBE launch?
JIBE launched in March 2010.
What problem does JIBE solve?
Until JIBE, job applicants were not able to include referrals on job applications submitted through job websites. References were usually emailed separately and were not always seen by internal recruiters. JIBE enables jobseekers to attach references directly to their job applications, increasing the chance that their resume will be noticed. JIBE also provides enterprises with a way to find quality candidates that come pre-recommended by their current or former employees, unlike existing recruiting platforms, which deliver enterprises a large quantity of unfiltered candidates. With the help of JIBE, the process is now seamless and integrated, all in one easy-to-use online location.
